How to Make a Gangnam Style AI Video
Five steps, one photo, no timeline. This is the version that actually survives the render: a photo that gives the model enough to work with, a scene that fits the trend, and a posting flow that keeps your account safe.
The five steps
Pick a photo that survives motion
Front-facing, eyes visible, shoulders in frame, even light. The model has to invent a moving body from this one frame, so a tight face crop gives it nothing to work with. Phone selfies in daylight are ideal; HEIC is fine and gets converted in the browser.
Decide who is dancing
Solo is easiest. Adding two friends is what makes the format read as “Gangnam at night”, but every extra face is another thing that can drift. If you add friends, use one clear photo per person, taken in similar light.
Choose the scene, not the prompt
Night street for the default look, rooftop for a wider skyline frame, wet alley for reflections. Changing the scene changes lighting and background; it should not change your face. If a scene keeps breaking your likeness, drop back to the default.
Render at 10s first
A Standard 480p pass costs half of an HD one and exposes the same failure modes: melted hands, identity drift, extra background people. Only spend the full 15 seconds once the short pass looks like you.
Post the silent clip, attach the sound in-app
Download the MP4, upload it to TikTok / Reels / Shorts, then add the track from the platform's licensed sound library. Do not bake the song into the file. This is the difference between a post that can be monetized and one that gets muted.
Works
- Front-facing, eyes open, no sunglasses
- Shoulders and upper body in frame
- Even light — window light or overcast daylight
- One person, sharp focus, no heavy beauty filter
Breaks the render
- Group photos or photobombs
- Backlit silhouette or hard side shadow
- Hands covering the face, masks, helmets
- Screenshots of screenshots (compression ruins the face)
When it goes wrong
These are the five complaints that show up most in the comment sections of every tutorial account.
The face looks like a cousin, not me
Usually a resolution or angle problem. Use a sharper photo, straight-on, with the whole head visible. Avoid 3/4 angles — the model has to guess the hidden half of the face.
Hands melt or multiply
Normal for current video models at 10–20s. Keep hands out of the source photo, and prefer a wider frame where hands are small. Re-roll rather than trying to prompt the problem away.
Extra people appear in the background
Add “no extra people in frame” to the prompt, and avoid busy street photos as reference. Crowd density is the single biggest source of flicker.
The dance looks stiff
The model needs motion cues. If you are prompting manually, describe the beat and the body parts (“shoulder bounce on the beat, arms loose, weight shifting foot to foot”). Presets already carry this.
Render failed and I was charged
A failed or safety-blocked job should return credits automatically. If it does not within a few minutes, contact support with the task ID.
Posting it without a strike
Upload the silent MP4. Inside TikTok, tap Add sound and search the track — it is already licensed for the platform, so the post stays monetizable and avoids a muted-video notice. Same flow on Reels and Shorts.
Keep the caption short and descriptive: “three friends, one night street, AI”. Do not claim it is the official video, and do not tag the artist's account as if it were a collaboration.
Do not download the song as an MP3 and mux it into the file. That is the version that gets takedowns, and it is the reason we ship silent renders.
FAQ
How do I make a Gangnam Style AI video?+
Upload one front-facing photo, pick a night scene, render a Standard 480p pass to check the likeness, then switch to HD and post the silent MP4 with the track added from TikTok's sound library.
Do I need to write a prompt?+
No. The generator ships with scene prompts already written. If you want to build it yourself in Flow, Gemini, Kling or Seedance, copy one of the prompts from our prompt library.
What photo works best?+
A sharp, front-facing phone photo with your head, shoulders and upper body visible, in even light. No sunglasses, no group shots, no heavy filters.
How long does it take?+
3–10 minutes depending on resolution and queue. You can close the tab; the finished file is saved to My Creations and emailed to you.
Can I post it on TikTok without a copyright strike?+
Yes, if you post the silent render and attach the sound from TikTok's licensed library. Do not upload an audio file or a video with the song already mixed in.
